RICHMOND, Ky. Former Eastern Kentucky University student-athletes Soufiane Bouchikhi and Thijs Nijhuis will compete at the 2019 IAAF World Track and Field Championships this week in Doha, Quatar.

The 2019 induction class included: Patrick Bugg (football, 2003-06), Jack Ison (football, 1967-96), Lisa Malloy (track/cross country, 1987-92), Don Richardson (baseball, 1952-54, 1957), and Mike Smith (basketball, 1988-92).

Five EKU student-athletes earned the Medal of Honor in two sports, bringing the total number of selections to 36.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Eastern Kentucky University student-athletes Samuel Abascal and Remi Schyns competed in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NCAA East Region Preliminaries on Friday night at Hodges Stadium on the University of North Florida's campus.
